Sun. March 3 -- Psychedlic specialists will remember Patrick Campbell-Lyons as singer of the '60s U.K. band Nirvana, who brought us "Rainbow Chaser," "Pentecost Hotel" and many other memorable nuggets of poetic melodiousness; his band includes the brocaded glamor of keyboardist Kristian Hoffman. Appropriate support arrives via Garretson & Gorodetsky, offering oblique but appealing observations of a jazzy, folky, cabaretish nature. At Café NELA, 1906 Cypress Ave., Glassell Park 90065; 8pm; $10; beer only; 21+; www.cafenela.net.

Wed. March 6 -- Drop in on pianist Eric Reed anytime; he always serves up something boppish and rooted enough for a wide jazz audience. Read my live review here. At Mr. Musichead Gallery, 7420 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood 90046; 7:30pm; $20-$30; www.justjazz.tv.

Thurs. March 7 -- Percussionist Brad Dutz is busy this week, here in a trio with windman Jasper Dutz and bassist Bruce Lett. They're calling it D2L, and why not? At Sunspace, 9683 Sunland Blvd., Shadow Hills 91040; 8-10pm; $10.

Thurs. March 7 -- Elliott Caine brings his trumpet and his band to the golf course; you enjoy his traditional jazz in the little auditorium with trees and greens a short stroll away.
